No more wild animals!
A new law passed in Ireland has banned the use of wild animals in circuses. Starting in January 2018, the ban will prevent lions, tigers, elephants, and other wild animals from living in the difficult conditions of circus life.
The ban on using animals for circus entertainment reflects a "commitment to animal welfare", said the Irish Minister for Agriculture Michael Creed. He added, "This is the general view of the public at large and a position I am happy to endorse."
