Cats do not get normal colds like humans, however, they can develop other respiratory diseases that potentially endanger their lives.

The most common respiratory disease your cat could get is pneumonia. Just like in humans, this is a very serious disease, which must be treated immediately. 

The main causes are infectious agents such as bacteria, fungi or viruses, depending on the type of pneumonia, and kittens (less than six months) and older cats (more than seven or eight years) are the most at risk.
